VUSD?

Following the brutal soul-crushing silence of a merciless job hunt, Justice came to a conclusion. Assistant Superintendents will tell him what he wants to hear if they want him in their district. Unintentional misinformation is still misinformation. He should talk to the principal for the real scoop on a school's job openings.

I had a three-person panel interview in Ventura for a 2nd grade SEI (Sheltered English Immersion) position Friday. A month ago, I would have said no to this position because I wanted Spanish dual immersion and nothing less. The irony is that this is dual immersion position, only I would be the English model - not the Spanish model as I had originally hoped. You know what? I'm hungry, broke, and humbled. I could really use the job, and I know now I couldn't carry the weight of being a Spanish model - not yet. Whether I get the position or not doesn't bother me like it did with EPA.

The Principal is solid, and she said she'd let me know by Tuesday, June 21, or Wednesday, June 22, if I was in or out. She's doing that with all of the candidates who applied. 4-5 day turnaround - I like that. The district leadership is the most unified I've seen, and the school is beautiful with room to grow professionally. It was the most natural interview I've had. One of my Poly professors is from VUSD, and she's totally backing me with the staff and bigwigs. I stand a good chance of getting in.

It's in God's hands now. Either way, yes or no, I win. If I get the job, I'll go surfing. If I don't, I'll still go surfing.
